We found some rental places only they will not consider renting to this family (two children ages 4 and 6) because of our financial situation our credit has suffered and well.. bad credit equates to no rentals available.

I was going to contact churches, but also happened upon a post here wherein 2 churches were contacted and the advice is for the person to just go to a shelter.

We have been in our home almost 5 years. Husband lost his job in 2008 and we fell behind with many of our bills. NJ has a 10% unemployment rate and because of our combined unemployment income, we do not even qualify for food stamps.

I am researching shelters.. wonder what we'll do with all the belongings in the house.. wonder what we'll do with the 2 cats and the dog.

I am beyond stressed out.. I am mentally spent and I think I'm probably in need of mental health care at this point only I have no health insurance..

I was thinking of taking a boat load of sleeping pills..
yes, I wrote to a suicide place and got no replies.

I think the economy is so bad now that nobody who could help will.. and I also think that death is looking pretty damn good at this point.

what do you think?

We have been served. We have 45 days to pay back the default on the loan or the judgement will be issued on the foreclosure.. next comes the eviction notice and again, we have nowhere to go.

I hope you don't mind me calling you angels, but those who are helping so many truly are Angels.

I've been reading the forum a bit, (a friend suggested it to me today)and I much rather be in a position to help others, than to ask for help, but my current situation isn't such at the current time.

Before I get into my situation, I want you to know I've tried seeking help from several sources, without luck as of yet.

I'll include the letter I sent out to two churches (which neither responded) in over a week for one, and a few days for the other. I will take out the names, as I don't wish to judge.

My letter below which I sent out pretty much states my situation as it is today and the help I am seeking. Thank you for reading it, and offering any help or suggestions you may have.

Dear Pastor ...............,

Thank you for the ride home today. I was getting ready to walk home when Pete offered me a ride and low and behold, I end up getting a ride from the Shepherd of the congregation! God is indeed Good!

The reason I came to your fellowship today is because I overheard someone speaking highly of it while I was at a doctors appointment last week. I decided to check it out and I wasn't disapointed. Your message today was very inspirational for me as it pinpointed trials I am struggling with in my life today, and how to react to such trials.
I received your message as a comforting message from the Lord saying: Do not fret because He knows my struggles, and is with me during those struggles, and to continue being obedient to Him, as He will see me through this walk through the fire. It was exactly the message I needed today.

I want to fill you in on what's going on in my life. I'll try to be as brief as possible.

I had heart surgery back in 2003. I didn't have health insurance. The medicals bill pretty much wiped out my savings.
Although I had reaccurring symptons, I continued working for several years the best I could until my condition affected my work to the point where I couldn't be productive any longer.
I applied for social security disability in August of last year and moved to Tucson, where I was invited to stay with my sister-in-law and family while awaiting disability. I realized soon after moving in that I never really knew my sister-in-law and that she has some very serious emotional issues. I annointed her house with oil, but still after a time I had to break free from this unhealthy situation. Some friends provided me with the funds to rent a place which I did for two months while awaiting diability. SSD declined my initial claim as they do for so many the first time around. My funds have since run out so I reluctantly moved back into my sister-in-law's home 3 weeks ago and I've been searching agressevly for a place to stay ever since. I am considering going to a shelter, but in my heart I don't feel that is where the Lord wants me right now, or I would willingly and gladly go.

Even though the odds of SSD coming through are good in the appeal process, and if it be His Will, I haven't found any apartments, or renters who are willing to work with me on a deferred type arrangement for rent. I've offered 100% return for investors to make a loan to help me sustain myself over the next few months while I wait for SSD. I've put feelers out for house sitting possibilities. I've been coming up blank on all attempts so far. It's been a stress filled emotional ride these last few months, but I do my utmost to keep my faith, and I know the Lord has certainly been gracious and compassionate towards me for which I am greatful.

I've never asked for any help for myself from any church. This is a first for me. So yes, I'm swallowing my pride and asking for help. These struggles have left me bare, without funds, and potentially without a home at the end of the month. I've used the last of my money on busses, and gas money for rides (which my family charges) and I will probabaly be losing my phone on the 23rd when payment is do, so email will be my only means of communication.

I suppose the help, or suggestions I'm seeking is to find mainly housing for the next few months while I await SSD. Of course I will pay rent (at a generous premium) contingent on receiving disability which God willing will happen this year. I do receive food stamps, but a place to live, read, study the word, and survive is what I truly am in desparate need of right now.

Also, about my background. My career was mainly in sales and management for a large home center chain. I am also experienced in website design, video graphic design and editing, and can offer my skills, or consutation if desired. I did write a book a few years ago entittled Y2K Vital Functions, which was about being prudent and for people to do some preparations should the year 2000 computer virus have caused problems.

I have no criminal background, and have never been arrested. Up until a few months ago, I worked my entire life, had a decent career, and a modest but welcomed living.

I am simply one of those messianic jewish believers who was saved in 1978 through a miracle, and is excited about the return of Jesus! I've been both extremely close in my walk with the Lord, and I've slid too over the years, but have always remained steadfast. I've wittnessed in places from Layfette Park in Washington D.C. and to Rabbis in the Old city in Jerusalem under threat of attack. Specific scriptures the Lord gave me in dreams are Psalm 37, when I prayed about all the evil in the world, and Hebrews 6:4-8 when I was visiting Jerusalem and preaching. I used the Hebrews scripture to counter a fallen away anti-christian I learned was preaching in Jerusalem.
I have been on fire for the Lord and look forward to getting back there as there is no better place in the world to be then in receiving the Lords Blessings. Striving to live in the Lord's Kingdom while on earth is ideed difficult, but continues to be a priorty I desire to acheive.
